All pdf-documents are created with Adobe Acrobat 9 and yes they are password
protected for changes. Ever since I found my scan of "Troubleshooting Your
Oscilloscope" for
sale
on eBay I decided to do it this way. I know security can be removed but I
figured that if someone wants to steal my work and take credit for it or for any
other reason change
it
at least it would take some work to do it and hopefully a long and obscure
password would complicate it. There has been some discussions and critics about
it since some
pdf-readers don't
seem
to support this format. Acrobat 9 is pretty old by now and newer versions
are available for free for different platforms so I really don't see the
problem.
I have loads of other kit instructions, data sheets or documents on microfiche so if you have a request for a particular document
Email me
(hahi at telia dot com).
If I have it and can scan it
I'll upload
it to here and email back to let you know. It may take a day or two, though.
Note: Since my Agfa Copydesk Microfiche copier broke
down I will not be able to provide any Microfiche scans.
Update: After having done some testing with my
Epson Perfection 4870 flatbed Photo Scanner I have found a way to get scans
from microfiche however not of the best quality.
It is quite a time consuming procedure which beside the actual scanning includes
a lot of "photo shopping" to crop and improve the images before making pdf's of
them.
So if you need
something it doesn't cost anything to ask. If I have the info and time I will
have a go at it.
Update2: Some time ago I purchased an
Elmo ST2000X Microfiche scanner of eBay. It makes copies faster but the
resolution is so low that copies are really lousy. Most of the
time they can be read on a PC but are no good for printing.
